Sack of Sin Showcase Info!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS YOU SINNERS!
Figured this would be an easier way to communicate rather than through Facebook Messenger so we can give you updates and you can read at your leisure.
So we have booked SAT MARCH 11TH @ THE LOFT in Poughkeepsie for our first showcase! Thanks to our pal Vern from Breach The Asylum for getting this secured for us!
We hope ALL of you will be able to attend and hopefully perform, or come to highlight your talents/resources.
LINEUP/SCHEDULE:
Below is the tentative schedule for the event. If anyone on the roster would like to secure their times for this let us know ASAP:

WE WILL BE BACKLINING GEAR FOR THE NIGHT so saves time between bands and humping a hell of a lot of gear up those steps!
GUITARISTS - Please bring your own heads for the speakers and any effects you want to use. If you do not have a cabinet head, one can be provided if need be,
BASSISTS - Please plug in and don’t laugh at the others since you have it easy (well unless you’re one of those “pedal heads” then in that case, bring it)
DRUMMERS - Please bring your own snare, hardware/cymbals (just in case) or any specific items you need.
And yes, bring your own guitars for godsakes (I can’t believe I’m typing this, but there’s always one of you!)
MERCH BOOTH - We will be setting up a merch table where everyone can sell their shirts, stickers, CD’s, (do they even make those?) all in one area. We will supply one or two Sack of Sin “Staff” to run the booth during the whole show so all you have to do is drop off your swag at the table before the doors open, let us sell your gear and collect your $$$ at the end of the night!
On that note, artists we will be counting and confirming quantity of what you leave at the table with the artist and there will be a count at the end of the night with each artist. PLEASE ALSO NOTE Merch table will be keeping $2 OF EACH ITEM SOLD and artist will receive the rest so mark your costs accordingly. we need to pay these merch people for hustling your wares.
Artist will let us know price point for their merch and staff will adhere to that cost. So if you are selling a shirt for $10, you will get $8 back for each item sold at the end of the night (yay math!)
We are also encouraging other members, if you would like to set up a booth and showcase/sell your wares please do! Believe it or not, my girl at Wisk Catering Co. will be making and selling (get this) SACK OF SIN COOKIES! We are talking cookies with pentagrams on them wrapped in a nice clear “sack”. Sorry kids, no edibles in these guys but they sure are tasty and will be available at the official merch booth.
If you would like to set up a separate table to sell your wares separately, cost would be $20 for the spot and you keep 100% of your sales. This is only available for NON-PERFORMING ARTISTS. Bands, don’t think you are setting up your own separate merch table buster!
That being said If artists would prefer to pay the $20 up front instead of the $2 cut for each item sold, please let us know.
Oh and now here comes the part all musicians/artists hate to hear….
TICKET SALES/ARTIST PAYMENT - I know I know, but here’s the deal, we are NOT requiring you to sell X amount of tickets to play this event! HOWEVER, we are encouraging artists to help promote the event and bring as many of your fans/friends/mistresses as possible.
Do the simple math - If each band brings 10 people to the gig, you play in front of 80 people. If you scratch your ass and bring 2? Well then there’s 16 people who will stay to see you and leave and that sucks. THIS DOES NOT WORK IF WE DON’T WORK TOGETHER!
Bands playing the show will be given tickets to sell ahead of time so when someone comes in the door with it, the band will not only get the bragging rights but will also be compensated at the end of the night.
ADVERTISING/PROMOTION -
*Sack of Sin will be sending out a Facebook Invite to promote the showcase, so PLEASE use that one event to invite your fans and share! We don’t want a bunch of separate event invites floating around and this will give us a good idea of what the attendance will look like. Each band playing will have admin rights so they can send invites through that one event. SOSE will also be boosting these posts through Facebook, so might as well take advantage of that reach.
*Of course we will be heavily promoting the event on our own “Hey Pal What’s New?” Podcast so any artist/performer who wants to be a guest we do weekly episodes (99% of the time).
